Top digital freelancers in Mumbai: web, design & marketing (2026)
Web development, design, and broader digital services under a personal brand in Mumbai — ranked by portfolio depth, verifiable credentials, and third-party corroboration, with sources and an honest look at where I land on my own list.
Most “top freelancer” lists for Mumbai are really just directory listings with a headline slapped on. This one is narrower and more specific: freelancers doing genuine, portfolio-verifiable digital work — web development, design, and marketing together — under their own name, evaluated against the same fixed criteria rather than whoever paid for the listicle placement.
Portfolio depth and multi-discipline range carry more weight in this particular list than in a pure-marketing or pure-SEO ranking, because the work itself — a shipped site, a design system, a live client build — is easier to actually go and look at.
The work itself is the strongest evidence here. So that’s what carries the most weight.
A transparency note before you read further: I’m one of the eight names on this list, scored using the same criteria as everyone else. This is my own research and judgment call, not a neutral third-party audit — treat it as one practitioner’s honest read of who’s genuinely doing this work in Mumbai, cross-checked against public sources. I rank below one other name here, and I’ve said exactly why.
How I built this ranking
The same seven-signal framework, reweighted slightly for how much portfolio evidence matters when the deliverable is a visible, checkable piece of work:
| Signal | Weight | What I looked at |
|---|---|---|
| Google Business Profile / local-pack presence | 25% | Star rating, review count and recency, map-pack visibility |
| Domain & content authority | 20% | Own site, original content, personal-brand footprint |
| Portfolio depth | 15% | Shipped projects, named clients, visible case work |
| Demonstrated tenure | 15% | Years active, consistency of the public trail |
| Credentials | 10% | Certifications, verifiable education |
| Social footprint | 10% | LinkedIn, Behance, Instagram, YouTube activity |
| Category relevance | 5% | How much of the work is genuinely web/design-led |
Everyone here clears the same basic bar before being ranked at all: a real, named individual with a consistent identity across platforms, a substantive owned site, a demonstrable portfolio, at least one form of outside validation (reviews, a directory listing, an employment or education history), a transparent location, and verifiable credentials where claimed. Anything I couldn’t independently confirm is marked (unverified) — competitor entries stay factual, and any stated outcome is repeated as a marketing claim rather than something I’ve confirmed myself. Sources: each freelancer’s own site plus public profiles (Behance, LinkedIn, directory listings), checked July 2026.
The ranking
1. Ronak Bagadia
Freelance web developer and designer, 13+ years, based in Kandivali West, and founder of Stymeta Technologies. His Behance profile states 13+ years and 200+ brands; his site states 500+ projects. He also carries a third-party rating — Justdial 5.0 (from 4 ratings).
What puts him at #1: the most independently corroborated profile on this list. An active Behance portfolio (you can go look at the actual work), a third-party Justdial rating rather than a self-reported one, stated education (MS from Texas Tech; B.E-IT from University of Mumbai — as listed on his profile, unverified by me), and freelance-marketplace listings beyond his own site. Multiple independent platforms confirming the same identity is about as strong as this kind of check gets. Worth knowing: he’s also the founder of a company (Stymeta), so larger engagements may run through a small team rather than purely solo — worth clarifying scope when you enquire.

2. Shezad Ali Khan — that’s me
Digital consultant, trainer, and web developer, 12+ years, based in Jogeshwari West. What sets my profile apart here is range: marketing, web development, and training together, on what I’d call the best-engineered site in this group, with a self-reported 5.0★ across 30 Google reviews and a government-issued teaching credential (Skill India / NSDC) that no pure developer on this list holds.
Where I land behind Ronak Bagadia: pure web-development portfolio depth, and an independently visible star rating — his is a third-party Justdial score, mine is a figure I display on my own site rather than something pulled from a live external source.

3. Chetan Digital
Web development, SEO, and marketing together, based in Ghatkopar West. A real, checkable address and an independent Zipleaf listing back up a multi-service site with real depth rather than a single thin page.

4. Anand Kumar Jha (“Anandkjha™”)
SEO/PPC specialist working under his own name since 2012, based in Chandigarh and targeting Mumbai clients remotely. Highly verifiable — a Udemy instructor profile, active Medium publishing, and over a decade of public output. Ranks here mainly on category fit: this list weighs web/design breadth more heavily, and his focus is squarely SEO/PPC rather than build work.

5. Dipesh Pednekar
Digital marketing and web development, 7 years, based in Parel. A public LinkedIn history that lines up with his site’s claims, plus named certifications — solid cross-platform corroboration, though the web-development side of his practice is less the headline than the marketing side.

6. Mahendar Prajapati (“Mahendar Digital”)
Marketing, graphic design, and web work combined, roughly 5 years, greater Mumbai / MMR. A named individual with a stated MBA and specific named clients on his site, which is a stronger portfolio signal than anonymous testimonials, even where unverified.

7. Manav Hansrajani
Performance-marketing freelancer, Andheri West, with institution-backed training (DGmark Institute) and an active blog demonstrating real paid-media knowledge. Sits lower on this particular list because the work itself skews marketing rather than web/design, and — as noted above — some engagements run through a small studio-style setup rather than as a strictly solo practice.

8. Aditya Ambruskar
Digital marketing with a video/YouTube focus, Mumbai. An active public publishing footprint under a real name is a genuine, hard-to-fake signal — it sits last on this specific list mainly because the work is marketing- and video-led rather than web/design-led.

Where I honestly land
I put myself at #2, behind Ronak Bagadia. His pure web-development portfolio runs deeper than mine, and his Justdial rating is independently visible in a way my own site-hosted figure isn’t — those are real, checkable advantages. What I’d put ahead of everyone else on this list is the combination: breadth across strategy, SEO, web build, and training, plus a credential and local review presence that no one else here has together.
Why some people choose me anyway
Most freelancers on this list do one thing well. My case is for founders who’d rather have one accountable practitioner across strategy, SEO, web build, and team training than stitch together several specialists themselves — backed by a government training credential and direct freelance access, no agency layer in between.
Worth repeating before you act on any of this
Star ratings shown across this site and this list — including my own 5.0★/30 and Ronak Bagadia’s Justdial 5.0/4 — are as presented on each person’s own channel or third-party profile, not something I independently confirmed against live Google Maps data. This is a ranking of public signals, not an endorsement of anyone’s actual client outcomes; treat any performance claim as a marketing claim until you verify it yourself. A few names here operate closer to a small studio than a strict solo freelancer — Ronak Bagadia (Stymeta) and Manav Hansrajani, specifically — which is a fair thing to know, not a criticism. Links can go stale — check a site still resolves before relying on it. Everything above reflects public information as of 31 July 2026.
